Nick Fox

Pro Service Coach

Nick Fox’s journey in the automotive industry began at 12 years old when he started working for his father’s business, cleaning the shop, and handling landscaping duties. Over time, he proved his abilities and worked his way up through the ranks, taking on roles as a tire technician, apprentice mechanic, service advisor, and store manager. His dedication and strong work ethic ultimately led to the opportunity to purchase shares in the family business and become a partner.

In 2016, Nick officially became a partner with his father, Bob Fox. Under his leadership, the organization doubled in size, expanding from two to four locations. Nick played a pivotal role in this growth, including business valuation and negotiations, as well as the creation and implementation of the company’s first comprehensive budget, SOPs, marketing plans, employee training plans, retention programs, mechanic apprentice programs, and job descriptions. The family-owned business included four Point S locations in Montana—two in Helena (J&J Point S and Capital City Point S) and two in Great Falls (Jerry Noble Point S and Fox’s Point S).

For 12 years, Nick worked alongside Jim and Sherri Murphy in a peer group called Top Flight, which was dedicated to supporting Point S locations. This peer group allowed Nick to further grow his industry knowledge and share best practices with fellow leaders.

In April 2024, Nick merged the business and transitioned to a new leadership role with Gills Point S as a District Manager, overseeing 18 locations across Montana, Idaho, and Utah. Nick’s strategic focus on business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction allowed him to make meaningful contributions to Gills Point S while continuing to make a lasting impact in the industry.

Nick was also elected to serve on the board of directors of Point S USA, which was the steering committee for the Point S Co-Op. He served on this board for over two years and had to step down when he merged with Gills, as Gills Point S already had a representative on the board.

As a business owner, Nick is known for setting ambitious goals and relentlessly working to achieve them. His leadership extends beyond business operations into the community. He is actively involved in various community organizations and serves on the boards of The Exchange Club, the Helena Chamber of Commerce, and the Helena College Automotive Advisory Committee. His dedication to the industry also includes being a certified TIA instructor.

Nick had a vision to create the Helena Septemberfest Soapbox Derby for the Helena community. This family-friendly event continues to grow and completed its fourth year in 2024, bringing two fun-filled days of competition and events to many downtown businesses and approximately 5,000 spectators for free. It has become a community highlight, with increasing participation and support each year.

Nick has earned recognition as a trusted source in the automotive field. His professional achievements include receiving the “On the Rise Award” from Modern Tire Dealer in 2018, the “Vehicle Care Rockstar” award by Tire Review in 2024, and being honored as one of Helena Chamber of Commerce’s “20 Under 40” in 2024. He has also been featured in several industry trade publications and podcasts, including Modern Tire Dealer, Tire Business, and Gain Traction, highlighting his expertise, and thought leadership.

Outside of work, Nick is passionate about soccer, a sport he played at the collegiate level. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Tiffany, and their four children—Marlee, Hayden, Beckett, and Charli—whether camping, hiking, or exploring new adventures. Nick’s commitment to family is central to his life, and he takes pride in striving to be the best husband and father he can be.

Nick is known for his strong leadership abilities, problem-solving skills, and commitment to continuous improvement. His strengths lie in operations, creating a positive work culture, and building lasting relationships with employees, customers, and business partners. He believes in the power of grit—never giving up and always pushing forward, even when faced with obstacles. Above all, Nick is dedicated to helping others succeed, whether it’s through mentorship, community involvement, or sharing his knowledge to uplift others in the automotive industry.
