When Kyle and Ryan Smith opened Smith Diesel Performance in Cedar City, Utah, on January 2, 2006, they set out to build a business known for quality work, strong customer relationships, and long-term trust.
Now celebrating 20 years in business, Smith Diesel Performance has reached another major milestone: a significant facility expansion and a projected doubling of annual revenue in less than two and a half years of working with Elite Worldwide.
The Starting Point
When Smith Diesel Performance began working with Elite Worldwide in December 2023, the shop was already a successful operation with a strong foundation.
At that time, the business was producing approximately:
- $3 million in annual sales
- $246,000 in monthly revenue
- $1,212 average repair order
- $109 labor rate
- Approximately 6% net profit
For Kyle and Ryan, the opportunity was not just about growing revenue. It was about becoming stronger leaders, improving systems, increasing capacity, and building a business that could continue to scale successfully.
The Results
In less than two and a half years with Elite Worldwide, Smith Diesel Performance has made major progress across several key performance areas.
By 2026 year-end, Smith Diesel Performance is projected to reach approximately $6 million in annual sales, with monthly revenue near $500,000 and an average repair order of $2,120.
The shop has also updated its compensation plan, significantly increasing team compensation and creating greater opportunities for employees as the business continues to grow.
Expanding the Facility for the Future
Smith Diesel Performance originally moved into its 9,500-square-foot facility on January 2, 2013. As the business continued to grow, Kyle and Ryan invested in a major expansion to support the next chapter of the company.
Completed on February 18, 2026, the new 7,500-square-foot addition expanded the shop’s capacity and added:
- 7 additional service bays
- A dedicated wash bay
- More operational space for continued growth
With the expansion, Smith Diesel Performance now has 14 service stalls plus a wash bay, giving the team more room to serve customers, support technicians, and continue scaling the business.
